In order to slow soaring gas prices Barack Obama has turned to the Justice Department.
Makes perfect sense, huh?

Barack Obama said the Justice Department will try to “root out” cases of fraud or manipulation in oil markets.

President Barack Obama said Thursday that the Justice Department will try to “root out” cases of fraud or manipulation in oil markets, even as Attorney General Eric Holder suggested a variety of legal reasons may be behind gasoline’s surge to $4 a gallon.
“We are going to make sure that no one is taking advantage of the American people for their own short-term gain,” Obama said at a town-hall style meeting at a renewable energy plant in Reno, Nev.
The town hall was sandwiched in between Obama’s four fundraising events in California on Thursday — one in San Francisco and three in Los Angeles. The president was holding six fundraisers over the course of his three-day West Coast trip, aimed at high-dollar donors and young people, both of whom will be integral to a campaign that could set fundraising records.
And, that is just one more reason why community organizers don’t make good presidents.

How reducing our carbon increases carbon
Given that China and India refuse to commit to reduce their carbon output, I will lay out the case for you that any such caps we place on ourselves in the U.S. will actually INCREASE carbon out put overall.
Our Cap in Tax schemes will drive up the cost of energy which will in turn drive up the cost to make things. This is because to make things, you need energy which will cost more. If you can sell an item for the same amount of money, but pay less to make it...say by moving your production to a place that costs less to make an item, like China or India, if you have the means you will do so. These companies will not only save on energy, but also production as they can pay their workers less money for the same output. Your overhead will go down, your sale price can remain the same giving you more profit, which is desirable for a company.
Given that China and India have lower environmental controls than we do (which is self-evident) it is also highly likely that at least some of the companies that move will operate their productions to skimp on the cleanliness of their operations in order to save money which will put more pollution and carbon into the air. More carbon than if they had been incentivised to remain in the U.S. with our higher environmental standards.
So in conclusion, if you insist on introducing more Cap and Trade style taxations and drive up the cost of energy, and believe that man made carbon is killing the planet, you are killing the planet with Cap and Trade style taxations.

A Democratic member of the Assembly said Thursday that she was removed from a committee that advanced legislation limiting carbon emissions.
Rep. Ann Hraychuck (D-Balsam Lake) said Assembly leaders pulled her from the Special Committee on Clean Energy Jobs after she expressed concerns in the morning that revisions on the last-minute legislation didn't give her enough time to review the changes and talk to constituents about the bill.
The changes, in the form of a substitute amendment, were circulated among lawmakers on Tuesday.
Hraychuck is a former sheriff who has taken on a number of law-and-order bills for Democrats since defeating incumbent Republican Mark Pettis in 2006.
Rebekah Sweeney, a spokeswoman for Assembly Speaker Mike Sheridan (D-Janesville), said Hraychuck had five bills on Thursday's Assembly agenda, including one to raise penalties on those who help felons illegally purchase guns.
The decision to have Hraychuck leave the committee, which was considering only the climate-change bill, was to allow Hraychuck to focus on her own bills, Sweeney said.
But Jim Bender, spokesman for Assembly Minority Leader Jeff Fitzgerald (R-Horicon), said the move was about keeping a Democratic lawmaker in a competitive district from voting on a controversial bill.
Bender said the move showed Democrats were nervous about the public's reaction to the contentious proposal.
The panel voted 6-3 Thursday to advance the bill to the full Assembly. Eight amendments offered by Republicans were rejected by majority Democrats.
The bill would require that 25% of the state's energy to generate electricity come from renewable resources by 2025.
The aim of the legislation is to lower heat-trapping carbon emissions and to reduce the state's reliance on out-of-state fossil fuel sources. Wisconsin spends $16 billion a year on oil, natural gas and coal to generate electricity.
Proponents say the legislation will spur new employment in the energy sector and green technologies, but opponents say it will increase the cost of electricity and drive up manufacturing costs.
Hraychuck said there were many good provisions in the bill and that she was committed to passing legislation that will increase energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and create jobs.

It's very comforting to know that an unelectable government agency that hasn't passed 4th grade science is in charge of an issue that affects so many aspects of our lives as well as our lively hood.

Obama PROMISES increase energy prices
Since his green energy (with the exception of nuclear which he will not utilize) is nothing more than a boutique energy at best we still require some form of energy. And that energy is currently coal. I'm not sure if Obama is paying attention or not, but we're not exactly in the best of economic conditions right now and I'm not sure it's the best idea to drastically increase energy prices (which affects...uh...everything) at a time in which we have 10% unemployment and are bordering a depression.
Where are we supposed to get our energy Mr. President? Happiness and dreams?
